Bloomsburg Falls to West Chester in Lacrosse
WEST CHESTER--The Bloomsburg University lacrosse team dropped its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game of the year falling 17-8 to West Chester on Thursday afternoon. After the Golden Rams took a 2-0 lead in the first six minutes of play, the Huskies got goals from Brittany Wilkins (Barto/Boyertown) and Allison McFatridge (Hatboro/Upper Moreland) to tie the game at 2-2. West Chester then scored the next four goals of the game over a six minute stretch to take a 6-2 lead. West Chester lead 9-4 at halftime and opened the second half of play by scoring six of the first seven goals of the half to take a 14-5 lead with 20 minutes to play. After the Huskies' Brittany Lucchesi (Ambler/Wissahickon) cut the lead to 14-6 with a goal, the Golden Rams netted the next three goals to put the game out of reach at 17-6. Bloomsburg got two goals in the final minute and a half to make the final 17-8. Bloomsburg, 2-4, 2-1 in the PSAC, got two goals from Cali Toms (Pottstown/Pottsgrove). West Chester, 5-2, 2-1 in the PSAC, was led by Jackie Baker with six goals and one assist. The Huskies visit Gannon and Mercyhurst on Saturday and Sunday. |
